This semester-long class project had me interpret a given text by Jorge Luis Borges into a design meant to bring his words to life. I chose to do this by reimagining his words as a field guide modeled after 19th century encyclopedias and their treatment of type and image. All images and ephemera in this book were personally photographed, drawn, or otherwise created with the goal of illustrating the people and artifacts that Borges discusses in his work. I also printed and bound this design into a physical, hardcover copy.
